Julia Harriet is an international best-selling author, an inspirational speaker,
and a builder who has been working in construction for over six years on Vashon
Island, Washington. After earning her MIT, she spent a decade teaching
everything from preschool to high school art. Julia left the field of education to
once again become a student at age thirty-five when she started a carpentry
apprenticeship. She successfully built her own home for her family and enjoys
supporting others in DIY home-improvement projects. Julia also volunteers for a
nonprofit in her community, Project Dove, which works to support victims of
domestic and interpersonal violence. Julia’s memoir, Under Construction:
Healing Trauma While Building My Dream, became a #1 international bestseller
in four countries in 2021 and a #1 bestseller in nine categories, including a new
release in Happiness. Julia considers herself to be everyone’s builder buddy and
loves to support women in constructing their dreams, no matter what obstacles
appear in the way.
